Brooklyn's MSCHF is back in the spotlight with yet another groundbreaking collaboration, partnering with Reebok to revolutionize the iconic Pump Omni Zone II. Known for provocative creations and having collaborated with Crocs and Kid Cudi, MSCHF takes it a notch higher by unveiling the Pump Omni Zone IX, a hyper-creative reinterpretation of the classic sneaker.
Uncharacteristically, Reebok has given MSCHF carte blanche to re-engineer their classic design, a move underscoring the significance of this partnership. The result? An iteration bursting with ingenuity that blurs the lines between art and footwear.
The original Pump Omni Zone II’s leather, suede, and TPU construction remains intact, but what sets this apart are the eight additional Pump bladders—a whopping total of nine—adorned across both sides of the shoe. This audacious design move amplifies the "Pump" technology that made the original iconic and transforms the shoe into an avant-garde work of art.
The shoes don't shy away from branding, either. Reebok’s signature is found on some of these exterior air chambers and embedded into the outsole's traction. Adding a cheeky touch is the phrase "Boing Boing" inscribed on the heel, a playful allusion that only adds to the pair's unique charm.
Mark your calendars: the MSCHF x Reebok Pump Omni Zone IX will drop on September 27, 2023, and will be exclusively available through a 24-hour Draw on MSCHF's website and app.
