Since its reissue earlier this year, the hardwood classic Reebok Kamikaze II has, unconventionally, opted to remain true to it’s OG color arrangements. Fans of the retro hoop shoe know just how wild the palettes can get when it comes to Shawn Kemp’s sneaker, but until now, its remained pretty reserved. And whilst this releases arrives with a clean black and white base, it’s by far the most daring effort weve seen from the Vector on the silhouette in recent times.
The pair is an official nod to International Peace Day, which is observed annually on September 21st, but could easily double-up as an Olympic effort thanks to its use of notable colors through its psychedelic prints, of which take control of the pair’s rear and profile. The rear and medial sides flex most of the colorwork, with red, blue, teal, green, yellow, and black dripping and blending into a melting mess. The toe box stays relatively clean, showcasing the all-white leather construction that’s been hidden by the aforementioned, while special-edition embroidered tongues and insoles arrive in a contrasting jet black. Underfoot is just as intriguing as the upper, with a smokey-translucent rubber outsole housing red Hexalite cushioning, and a striking teal Vector logo beneath.
Pairs are already popping up on Reebok.com sites throughout Asia, and with September’s day of observance nearing, you can expect to see these arrive on your local Reebok Webstore very shortly.
