Reebok’s Special Projects division continues to explore the intersection of technical design and lived-in aesthetic with the reveal of the Reebok Premier Road Ultra “Buff Metallic.” Set to drop as part of the Spring/Summer 2026 lineup, this new edition is one of several models treated under the brand’s emerging “Buff Metallic” concept — an approach that leans into texture, patina, and the art of imperfection.

Unveiled by Evan Belforti of Reebok Special Projects, the “Buff Metallic” concept introduces hand-treated metallic panels that are intentionally worn and painted to simulate natural wear over time. For the Premier Road Ultra, that process works to highlight the silhouette’s intricate structure — emphasizing both the sheer number of panels and the ways they interlock across the mesh and synthetic build.

Soft pastel tones dominate the colorway, with faded teal, icy blue, and blush pink spreading across the shoe’s layers. While the look initially reads as clean and fresh, a closer inspection reveals buffed edges and uneven metallic fades that create a subtle lived-in feel. It’s a finish that feels less futuristic and more like a tech-runner passed down and broken in — without sacrificing Reebok’s signature performance cues.
