Three decades after its original debut, Space Jam is heading back to theaters on May 20 to celebrate its 30th anniversary.
The re-release arrives through AMC Theatres, giving fans a chance to revisit the classic film on the big screen. Anchored by Michael Jordan and a cast of Looney Tunes characters, the film remains one of the most recognizable crossovers between sport and entertainment, and its return aligns with a broader anniversary push planned throughout the year.
To mark the occasion, AMC is rolling out a set of themed collectibles tied directly to the film’s basketball roots. A standout is the collectible basketball cup, designed to resemble an in-game ball, alongside a “game time” popcorn bucket that mirrors a courtside setup. Both items are positioned as limited-run releases for the anniversary screenings, adding a tangible element to the theater experience.

This drop is just one part of a wider Space Jam revival happening in 2026. Beyond the cinema, Jordan Brand is also contributing with a lineup of themed footwear tied to the film’s legacy. Two new interpretations of the Air Jordan 11 are expected to land later this year, alongside the "Space Jam" Air Jordan 9, continuing the franchise’s long-standing connection to the Jumpman line.
With summer approaching and major sporting events on the horizon, the return of Space Jam taps into both nostalgia and the ongoing intersection of basketball culture and entertainment. For many, the film remains a defining moment from the ‘90s, and its influence still shows up across sneakers, apparel, and storytelling today.
Tickets for the May 20 screenings are available now and may go quick, especially with the added draw of exclusive merchandise.
