Stephen Curry Fulfils His Promise to Young Riley Morrison
A Curry 6 celebrating International Women’s Day.
Back in November, Steph Curry shared an exchange with a die-hard 9-year old fan named Riley Morrison. Her heartfelt letter asked why Curry’s latest signature line of Under Armour sneakers, the UA Curry 6, wasn’t available in women’s or girl’s sizes.
Curry said on the letter:
“I was immediately impressed when I saw Riley’s letter; that a nine-year-old girl had the courage to use her voice to call attention to an issue and keep us accountable. She was focused on the opportunity for ALL girls, not just herself,” Curry said in an official press release. “She’s been an amazing catalyst for change – not only with my product but also with the entire Under Armour brand. She is inspiring, and wise beyond her years.”

Being the great guy that Stephen is, he promised to Riley — and to the women of the world — that the problem would be rectified.
And it was
Yesterday on International Women’s Day, the release of the UA Curry 6 “United, We Win” — complete with a custom designed insole created by Riley — hit the shelves. The outside sports a blend of purple and deep orchid with white, while its insoles feature a drawing of two girls playing basketball as well as some motivational catchphrases the likes of Be Fearless,” “Girl Power,” “Be the Change,” Girls Hoop Too,” and “Rock the Currys.”
Sales of this special release will go toward a scholarship that the Steph and Ayesha Curry Family Foundation and Under Armour have created to honor Riley’s spirit
