This “Underrated” Curry 6 is Inspired by Warriors Jerseys From Steph’s Rookie Year
Slept on Steph.
Steph Curry always had potential, but with that came heavy doubts. Once upon a time, the fresh-faced Curry lacked the swagger and the killer mentality that the now 2-time MVP possesses. When he was drafted 7th overall out of tiny Davidson College in 2009, he was touted as being ‘too small’ to really have an impact on the NBA — boy the doubters couldn’t have been more wrong.
In his rookie season, Curry averaged 17.5 PPG, finishing second in Rookie of the Year voting. Curry not only showed that he belonged in the NBA, but his first season served as a warning of things to come.
Now, nine seasons on, Under Armour harkens back to Steph’s rookie season with a celebratory UA Curry 6 edition aptly dubbed “Underrated.” Featuring a blue/yellow-orange colorway reminiscent of the Warriors 2009/10 Jerseys, the sneaker utilizes multiple shades of blue hues to replicate the throwback uniform’s sheen, with hits of golden-yellow and red, the two complementary colors of the uniforms branding and detail.
The sneaker’s textured midsole features UA’s latest HOVR tech for premium on-court performance, and Steph’s signature “I Can Do All Things” hit appears on the outsole.
Throwback fans will be sure to eat up the “Underrated” Curry 6 when they arrive in stores and UA.com on February 1st, retailing at $130 USD.
