Justin R. Saunders has accomplished a lot without having to show his face. JJJJound, the digital-moodboard-turned-creative-studio he founded in 2006 has done work with giants in the world of furniture, footwear, and other everyday items. Over the past several years, it's collaborated with Vans on a number of elevated takes on some of the California institution's most iconic silhouettes. Recently, the studio announced a Half Cab duo set to launch throughout spring and summer.
Akin to work for other sportswear juggernauts, the next JJJJound x Vans capsule skews tonal. Images shared via Instagram showcase Steve Caballero's shoe with either all-black or all-chocolate brown suede uppers. The inner lining and tongue provide visual contrast, while elevating the wearer's experience when compared to inline versions of the Half Cab. Traditional branding is debossed on the lateral heel, while the skate-informed tooling underfoot opts for an off white finish that allows the top-halves to revel in the spotlight.
Firm release details for the collection haven't been disclosed by either party involved, but that's expected to change by June. In the meantime, enjoy early images of the duo ahead–courtesy of JJJJound.
