No Comply Skate and Vans Honor Daniel Johnston With Art-Based Capsule For Charity

The legacy of the late musician Daniel Johnston lives on thanks to the collaborative effort from No Comply Skate & Vans. The three silhouettes will not only pay homage to Mr. Johnston’s work but help a worthy cause the“Hi, How Are You Project”which aims to bring awareness to mental health, education and to encourage positive change, Presenting the No Comply Skate x Daniel Johnston x Vans capsule.

The untimely passing of Johnston in late 2019, who himself experienced issues with mental health, has inspired a second collaboration – the first of which was in March 2019- with the purpose to highlight the importance of education surrounding mental health issues and will ensure the project’s mission continues for years to come. The three silhouettes included in the capsule are the Slip-On-Pro, Old School Pro, and Authentic Pro, each features white and grey canvas uppers that adorn the artist’s unique illustrations with accompanying hits of orange. At the shoe’s foundation lies a white rubber midsole and bright orange outer sole decorated in stars and the numbers #61 and #19 to signify Johnston’s year of birth and death. Also included in the capsule, Two t-shirts, cap, and a tote bag completes the collection.
