SZA Joins Vans as New Artistic Director

Solána Imani Rowe—best known across the world as SZA—recently signed a multi-year partnership with Vans. The 35-year-old musician and actress will serve as the California-based brand's Artistic Director.

"In Vans, I feel free!" shared SZA in an Instagram post announcing the deal. "I’ve been wearing [Vans] Knu Skools and other styles for years, they’ve always had an ethos I connect with. As Artistic Director, my mission is to show that joy, community, creativity, and fashion are all still intersectional. That humanity, culture, and connection are still the access points."

Born in St. Louis and raised in New Jersey, SZA has been based out of Los Angeles throughout much of her professional music career. As such, she's a perfect fit for the laid-back style often associated with the original action sports brand. In her role, the Kendrick Lamar-associate is expected to lead campaign imagery and curate seasonal capsules.
