Kanye’s YEEZY BSKTBL lineage has had quite a controversial past. After a long-widened sample process — almost two years, in fact — followed by an NBA ban, and a staged All-Star Weekend rollout, the sneaker has never been far from dissension. Releases have been few and far between, with the lifestyle Quantum design taking precedence amongst retail releases. But now there’s a new kid on the block, the YEEZY BSKTBL Knit which is expected to debut in December 2021.
Given its unsupportive knit construction, we’re not too sure how these fit the basketball narrative, though it does share some similar design traits to the lineage. Firstly, you’ll notice an unchanged sole unit and a high-rise collar, though the new design extends this thoroughly — and does it in a sock-like weave. Said weave continues down to the upper, here in “3D Slate Blue”, complete with ribbing, patterns, and black detailing. It’s void of any overlays or ankle support.
For those who missed out on YEEZY Supply’s shock-drop this morning, you will find the YEEZY BSKTBL Knit “Slate Blue” hitting adidas.com sites globally and select Three Stripe retailers on December 18 for a retail price of $300. As always, keep your eyes glued to our official Twitter account for further store/raffle updates as we edge closer to the date.Update 12.07.21 Official images of the YEEZY BSKTBL Knit “Slate Blue” have arrived ahead of their release on December 16.
