adidas has just unveiled the next frontier for its football boots: 3D-printed pairs.
The announcement arrives shortly after the Kansas Jayhawk's Darryn Peterson unveiled a 3D-printed adidas Basketball shoe. Both futuristic footwear designs have been developed through Project R.A.P. (Radical Athlete Perception), a new platform the brand says is "for creating next-generation sports products through additive manufacturing."
Over an undisclosed amount of time, Paris Saint Germain's Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Atlético Madrid's Ademola Lookman have put the unnamed 3D-printed adidas football boots to the test, providing the brand's design team with invaluable insight—especially as the innovative product compares to the adidas F50 franchise.

Much about the 3D-printed boots is still under wraps, but the design features similarities to the ultra-breathable ClimaCool.
According to the Three Stripes, the unnamed model delivers "a bespoke fit and tailored support" to athletes at all levels of the game. Insight from the aforementioned F50 line, as well as the storied Predator and Copa series, will surely inform final versions of the 3D-printed football boots.
Stay tuned for more details, which could surface in time for the 2026 World Cup™ tournament.
