The adidas 4D Run 1.0 “Superstar” Borrows Design Cues From the OG Streetwear Icon
The love continues to flow for the adidas Superstar this year in light of its 50th anniversary. With both Prada and Pharell joining in the celebrations, the brand’s mainline, too is hard at work in honoring the half-century-old icon. Following news of the Shell Toe-inspired adidas Ultra BOOST DNA comes this “Superstar” adidas 4D Run 1.0, which pulls in some of the silhouette’s most recognizable cues.
In this latest tribute to the Superstar legacy, we can see a tonal white upper consisting of a woven mesh that serves as superb contrast to the bold black branding and heel overlay that results in the new but familiar feel inspired by the OG. Below is the unmissable signature Aero Green 4D sole units, encased here with a black rubber outsole. And it wouldn’t be a Superstar sneaker without metallic gold branding, placed here on the tongue and heel.
This adidas 4D Run 1.0 “Superstar” is slated for release on April 2nd at a price point of $220. Take a look at the official image set below, and if you are planning on picking up a pair next month, make sure you head on over to our adidas Release Dates page to set yourself a reminder for the drop!
