Adidas "Year of the Snake" Capsule Unveiled for 2025

As 2025 kicks off, one of the first significant occasions to celebrate is the “Year of the Snake.”

Adidas is now stepping into the spotlight with its sprawling "Year of the Snake" capsule. Featuring a mix of footwear and apparel, this collection combines retro inspiration with contemporary design to honor the occasion in style.

The highlight of the capsule includes five distinct sneakers, starting with James Harden’s new signature, the Harden Vol. 9, which has already hit shelves as a China-exclusive release. The shoe features a bold interpretation of the spotlighted snake material, setting the tone for the rest of the collection.

The Adidas AE 1 Low "Year of the Snake" has also been previewed, with the shimmering iridescent option eyeing a release later this month.

Three additional sneakers join the lineup:

• Adidas Intimidation Low: A throwback to the late 90s "Feet You Wear" era, this silhouette adopts a jade and black colorway, ushering in another retro run with help from collaborators like Packer Shoes.
• Forum 2000: A lifestyle-focused option, the Forum 2000 incorporates scaly textures on its Three Stripes branding and heel, paired with a neutral colorway for versatility.
• Crazy 8 Low: Perhaps the collection’s most thematic design, the Crazy 8 Low combines realistic snakeskin patches with vibrant red accents, fully embracing the spirit of the Lunar New Year.

To complement the footwear, Adidas is also releasing a matching apparel collection. The clothing mirrors the capsule’s color palette and includes vectorized branding with serpentine iconography and featuring hoodies, bomber jackets, flared sweatpants, and ringer tees.
