Adidas Originals has recently given folks a lot to discuss thanks to ongoing collaborations with Bad Bunny and Willy Chavarria. For its latest conversation-starter, the Three Stripes has gone on a solo effort, presenting the eyebrow-raising Forum Cubisim silhouette.
If you're thinking to yourself, "Well, that's just the existing Adidas Forum Low," you're right! The brand has take its iconic basketball sneaker from 1984 and reimagined it through the lens of an experimental dress shoe hybrid. The result is a leather offering that could easily be mistaken for the elegant Jabbar Lo styles by Willy Chavarria.
The upper is a faithful recreation of the Originals model, donning a series of performance-informed panels clad in black, white, or blue color schemes. Perforations at the profiles further nod to the design's origins as a performance model, while 3-Stripes and trefoil logos on the lateral side champion Adidas heritage. The bottom-half, however, breathes new life onto the 41-year-old basketball shoe.
Herringbone-patterned traction is segmented into two sections beneath the forefoot and hind-foot, leaving a gap in the center. The latter area is lifted in the same way a traditional men's dress shoe is. The front part of the experimental sole unit dons a square finish complemented by two golden octagon shapes at both corners of the toe. The detail rounds out an unconventional style reminiscent of Martine Rose's divisive Nike Shox projects.
Enjoy official photos of the Forum Cubisim ahead. The silhouette is set to launch via Adidas.com in at least three colorways throughout Fall 2025.
