The Three Stripes is celebrating the NBA finals in style, with a special four-piece adidas Forum “Champions Pack” that honors a quartet of the league’s franchises.
With inclusions of current finalists the Bucks and Suns, the Three Stripes looks to the NBA’s two most winningest franchises in the league’s history, the Lakers and the Celtics. Having already previewed the former, we now take a look at Bean Town’s release, which arrives in its traditional ’84 build with a handful of further retroelements. With aged-look leather construct and athletic-inspired textiles at the collar and tongue, the design brings us back to the mid-1980s, an era in which the sneaker was so prevalent on the NBA hardwood. Jersey-like tags are tacked onto the tongue, while ’84 embroidery at the heel presents in PE-styling. Shaggy suedes at the Three Stripes further develop the throwback theme, as too does the pre-aged midsoles and heritage gum rubber outsoles to complete the design.
