As we inch deeper into 2021, we’ve begun to see more sportswear-inspired releases arise from almost every footwear brand. From Nike’s Sports Specialty series of Dunks, to this new Tracksuit-treated adidas Forum Low, it appears that there an overarching shift to retro-inspired athletic wear from the early 1990s

While Nike has focused on corduroy and twill, adidas looks to jersey mesh, bold color, and retro branding. The latter can be found here on the pair’s triple-Trefoil tongue tag and insole print, as well as the throwback Trefoil outline on the ankle – a finish oft-seen oversized on the back of vintage tracksuits. Elsewhere, the mostly-white leather base is popped with bright red, yellow, and navy hues that send off a strong retro vibe, and the pair is completed by a simple era-friendly white sole unit underfoot.
