The Adidas Gazelle has lived several lives since its debut in 1966. As February approaches, the old school training model has been reworked for the sport of golf.
Aptly named 'Gazelle Golf', the newly-surfaced model blends Adidas heritage with a modern twist. Similar to past reinterpretations for the green–including the UltraBOOST and Samba–the latest Originals design to join the Three Stripes' golf lineup keeps things intact across the upper. Suede construction across the bulk of the top-half nods to yesteryear, as does the classic 'T'-toe. Gazelle text on the lateral profile also contributes to the style's traditional look. The story changes underfoot, however.
The indoor handball-friendly sole unit has been reworked to work on grass. The Adidas Gazelle Golf forgoes any detachable spikes in favor of a rubber traction pattern reminiscent of turf football shoes. Together, each aforementioned component allows for a stylish and lightweight footwear option that still delivers on the performance side.
