In the mid 2000s, adidas revealed a football boots franchise that immediately enjoyed a cult-like following in the F50+ Spider. On Dec. 11, the Three Stripes did what had been wide thought of as the unthinkable when it reissued a modern take on the boots' "Blue Rush" look.
With the 2026 FIFA World Cup™ scheduled to kick off in June, the German sportswear juggernaut continues to celebrate "the beautiful game" with compelling campaigns, innovative product, and heritage that reaffirms it at the center of the world's sport. This third front has been seen most recently through the development of the adidas Megaride F50+ Spider, a hybrid design that combines football legacy, retro running technology, and contemporary trends for a proposal that's simultaneously familiar and fresh.

Akin to Indoor iterations à la Nike Total 90 III retro, the newly-surfaced Megaride offerings see mid-aughts design language recreated faithfully across their uppers. Spiderweb-reminiscent overlays across the top-half sit atop a mesh base that's reinforced around the toe and along the lower-half. F50+ branding lands on the lateral forefoot, nodding to its muse.
Underfoot, tooling from the late-2000s' Ambition PB running model provides a responsive ride in a package that still seems envelope-pushing over a decade later. An X-shaped torsion system works in-tandem with adiWear® rubber compound to ensure performance standards are upheld by the adidas Originals hybrid.
Enjoy official photos of the debut Megaride F50 Spider styles ahead. Pairs have already begun launching in select markets, but a stateside adidas.com launch takes place on Thursday, Jan. 1, 2026, for $180. Retailers like JD Sports will also carry the silhouette.
