With the 2020 Tokyo Olympics postponed until next year, sneaker brands have been faced with an epic conundrum. Their celebratory footwear packs were foiled by COVID-19’s effect on the event, and now brands are left with droves of Games-specific sneakers scheduled to release over the Summer — and no one is feeling the pinch quite like adidas. The brand is notorious for going all-in on the quadrennial event, with 2020 being one of their biggest yet, including this ZX 8000and a duo of new Ultra BOOST DNA Primes. Now, you can add even more, with this colorful two-piece pack of Olympic NMDs.
Arriving with all-white and all-black based respectively, each pair comes covered in colored accents featured on the Olympic flag. Starting from red taping in the rear, to color-piped Three Stripes, and forefoot line art that mimics the rays of a rising sun, the pair is literally decked from toe to tail. Gradient tongue tags, multi-colored insoles, and Japanese “The Brand with the Three Stripes” characters all come together to complete the designs.
