    Adidas Originals Launches A-TYPE, Blending Iconic Designs With High-End Artistry

    Adidas Originals is redefining its heritage with A-TYPE, a new, evolving collection dedicated to reimagining some of its most iconic designs with the finest materials and craftsmanship. Blending archival silhouettes with contemporary refinement, A-TYPE represents Adidas at its most elevated and artisanal, celebrating the brand’s legacy with a fresh perspective rooted in sophistication and quality.

    With A-TYPE, Adidas Originals moves beyond simple nostalgia, crafting a modern homage to its storied past. Each season, the collection will revisit a different selection of Adidas icons, elevating them with premium materials and handcrafted details that transcend sport and seamlessly integrate into high-end fashion. For its debut, the collection spotlights three classics: the Superstar, the Firebird tracksuit, and the Airliner bag—each meticulously reworked to redefine everyday essentials.

    The A-TYPE Superstar takes inspiration from the silhouette’s first-ever prototype, enhancing it with handmade Italian craftsmanship, premium leather, debossed canvas-textured Three Stripes, cashmere shoelaces with silver-plated lace tips, and a Lightstrike Pro midsole. Presented in a molded shoe box with wooden shoe trees and white gloves, the sneaker delivers an experience that reflects its rarefied status.

    The A-TYPE Firebird tracksuit follows the same design, elevating the Track Top, Track Pants, and Track Shorts with the finest leathers and handcrafted details. Cashmere-blended t-shirts further extend the collection’s premium appeal, bringing an added layer of refinement to classic athletic-inspired apparel.

    A-TYPE also reintroduces the Airliner bag, a staple from Adidas’ 1970s archive, now reimagined in supple leather with premium hardware. Available in two sizes—A-TYPE Airliner Large and Small—each bag balances form and function, catering to a contemporary audience. Rounding out the debut collection is a selection of sterling silver Trefoil jewelry, including pendant necklaces, rings, and earrings, ensuring that every detail of the collection reflects the highest standards of craftsmanship.

    To mark the launch, Matthew Henson styled a campaign shot by Gabriel Moses, featuring cultural pioneers across sport, fashion, entertainment, and music, including Pusha T, Tyshawn Jones, Selena Forrest, Fiffany Luu, Paloma Elsesser, and DJ Hank Korsan. Currently available only to Adidas’ family and friends, A-TYPE is set to evolve with future releases, with broader public launches expected to follow.
