Predator Accelerator 4D EQT Celebrates 30 Years of adidas Equipment
adidasshook up sports culture in the 1990s with their beloved Equipment lineage. It birthed some of the best on and off-field footwear and apparel of the period, from the famous Equipment Crewneck sweater in signature teal, white, and black, to David Beckham’s 1998 adidas Predator Accelerator football boot. In celebration of three decades of adidas Equipment, the brand will be bringing together these two icons, alongside the brand’s marquee 4D technology, for a special-edition release: the adidas Predator Accelerator 4D EQT
The title is an absolute mouthful, and it’s fitting considering the audacious overdesign of the Predator Accelerator. Featuring overlays atop cut-outs, a plethora of wavy details, and an overall aggressive design, the classic cleat leaves nothing on the pitch. Here, it’s reworked into a casual 4D trainer, though I suspect many hardcore football fans will use these for indoor play. The color scheme is new for the Predator Accelerator; the boot has never arrived in such a color scheme, which is a head-scratcher considering adidas Equipment’s staple trio of colors. Construction-wise, you’ll see a premium leather and mesh upper, sock-like booties in the back heel, and signature Ash Green 4D midsoles — it even comes completed by insoles that mimic the cleats’ original stud plate.
