A cycling classic since 1950.
From such humble beginnings, big things can grow. What started as a soccer training sneaker back in 1950, the adidas Samba has become one of the most iconic and influential sneakers of all time. Fundamental to the sneaker’s international love was its inclusion across multiple sporting disciplines, one of those being cycling. The multi-purpose shoe spread through Europe like wildfire, and the rest is history.
adidas, who is no stranger to reworking the icon, is back with an all-new “MS” makeup inspired by the pedal culture. The two debut pairs arrive in a light “Easy Yellow” and a dark “Core Black,” keeping it’s OG shape intact, with a few added embellishments: raised Three Stripe branding, which migrates it’s way up to the eyestays and a branded tongue pull tab. But it’s not all aesthetical — being a cycling shoe after all — there are a few performance upgrades, too. A gusseted tongue and water-repellent suede toe cap the most obvious tweaks, with the addition of reflective laces for visibility on those late-night rides. Capping off the design are city-mapped insoles and semi-translucent black outsoles.
Both pairs of the all-new adidas Samba OG MS debut on March 1st for $100 USD a pop.
