Since its debut as a super light performance trainer, the Adidas SL 72 has lived several lives. Bits and pieces of its blueprint have gone on to inspired new silhouettes, but the model has enjoyed time in the spotlight over the last few years with its build intact.
Widely-touted as a fashionable women's sneaker, Adidas Originals' offering continues to form part of limited edition collections and inline product rosters alike. For its latest getup, the design has taken on a premium "Core Black" leather makeover that sits atop a "Gum Five" outsole. In addition to standing out with its non-nylon materials across the top-half, the newly-surfaced SL 72 makes a statement via contrast stitching reminiscent of Western wear around the upper. A shimmering silver, trefoil-shaped lace dubrae also joins the mix, evoking imagery of cowboys' buckle belts (which Nike are set to release soon).
Firm Adidas.com launch details have yet to be disclosed by the Three Stripes, but that's expected to change as fall inches closer. In the meantime, enjoy official photos of the pair below.
