Adidas’s streak of standout animal print releases continues. Following the success of general release pairs dressed in cheetah and leopard motifs — thanks in no small part to the influence of Wales Bonner’s red-hot collaborations — the brand is venturing deeper into the wild for its next drop. This time, the classic SL 72 silhouette gets a bold faux zebra print makeover, arriving just in time for the Holiday 2025 season.
The Adidas SL 72 “Zebra” features a striking mix of black and cream hair-textured uppers, mimicking zebra stripes across the entire base layer. Smooth black leather lands on the Three Stripes, heel tab, and eyestay, providing sharp contrast against the patterned backdrop. Below, a crisp white midsole with red trim sits atop a gum outsole for a vintage-inspired finish that ties the look together.
Continuing the theme, Adidas includes textured detailing on the tongue and gold-foil branding at the heel — touches that elevate the heritage runner into a lifestyle statement piece. While the silhouette retains its retro form, the use of faux fur materials and graphic patterning keeps it distinctly modern.
The release also arrives alongside two cow-print colorways of the Samba, confirming that Adidas is expanding beyond its signature “big cat” styles for a more diverse animal-inspired lineup.
Expect the Adidas SL 72 “Zebra” to release this Holiday 2025 through Adidas.com and select retailers.
