Adidas Running hasn't lost its stride in recent memory, but it's consistently evaluated its lineup of products to find both areas of improvement and unaddressed segments in the market. The Adizero series has delivered fine-tuned race footwear for over a decade, with some of its findings informing franchises designed with everyday people in mind. Enter: Adidas Supernova Rise 3, the latest comfort-oriented model that reimagines heritage for modern needs.
The Supernova range has existed well before unfashionable running shoes became trendy. Models within the Supernova Cushion family—which shares DNA with Pharrell Williams' Adistar Jellyfish collaboration—have been developed with one goal in mind: long-lasting cushioning. Offerings from the greater part of the last 20 years have been highly-technical and chunky to a fault, but the last few iterations from the storied series have delivered an overhauled look and ride.

Currently, the Adidas Supernova family offers several different models built with different performance needs and gait cycles in mind. The Supernova Prima provides the tallest midsole stack, while the Supernova Solution delivers additional stability support. The Supernova Rise, then, sits somewhere in-between, offering ample DREAMSTRIKE+ cushioning and a wide-enough base for everyday walking and jogging.
The Supernova Rise 3, however, evolves the franchise far beyond what was accomplished between the Rise 1 and Rise 2, the latter having been voted Shape Magazine's 2025 Best Everyday Workout Shoe.
A quick glance of the silhouette's lateral angle reveals what looks like an entirely new footwear range. DREAMSTRIKE+ midsoles have been reconfigured in a similar fashion to the all-new Adidas Response Pace. The chiseled foam keeps a plump presentation, with an official e-commerce description for the product confirming a 20% softer DREAMSTRIKE+ compound. The foam's reworked presentation seemingly concentrates material under key areas to provide a comfortable, stable, and responsive ride when engaged.
ADIWEAR traction is replaced with LIGHTTRAXION, the same polyurethane (PU) material found on marquee racing products like the Adios Pro 4. The move sheds weight while enhancing performance under slippery conditions. The LIGHTTRAXION coverage follows the shape of the Supernova Rise 3's rod-like sculpting underfoot, details that mimic the foot's anatomy to improve comfort and serve as a springboard of sorts. An update to the heel's lateral strike zone is meant to accommodate to the foot's natural landing pattern, in particular amongst heel-strikers.
Up-top, the sandwich mesh upper has been reimagined with a PRIMEWEAVE build. The lightweight, engineered, woven material features an all-new layout. Laser-precision perforations appear around the forefoot, with fuse reinforcement landing across different sections of the upper. The top-of-the-tongue is extra padded, while 3-Stripes branding on the sides protrude slightly when compared to the first two Supernova Rise editions.
The Supernova Rise 3 is a refreshing design rooted in decades of performance running expertise. Its plush, softer midsole configuration and variety of color schemes are sure to win over audiences looking for an athletic sneaker that seamlessly transitions into everyday life.

Firm Adidas.com release details haven't been disclosed by the brand as of yet, but the Supernova Rise 3 is expected to debut globally during the Fall 2025 season. The sneaker's full range of styles has yet to surface, but an initial "Solar Yellow" pair showcases every element on the impending running model, in a color scheme with rich Adidas Running heritage.
Expect other members of the Adidas Supernova family to also get reworks before 2026.
