adidas’ most recognizable sneaker has just received a premium overhaul, one that’s inspired by the elevated principles of Japan’s obsessive footwear designers.
The luxed-out Shell Toe takes a very simplistic approach, not distancing itself too far from the OG Black/White colorway, but instead putting a focus on premium materials and vintage finishes. Here, ultra-soft supple leather uppers, liners, and tongues barely hold the silhouette’s shape, with accompanying white leathers across the crimped Three Stripes and heel overlay staying true to the original. Sole units and Shell Toes take on an aged look finish, whilst gold foil at the quarter is inked in retro stylings. True to Japanese shoe dog design, it’s not just the outside that receives the premium finishes, with soft leather liners and cork-lined insoles completing the design.
