The adidas Superstar continues to surprise and tantalize us in its 50th anniversary year — it’s even got me sounding like Clyde Frazier in my write-ups. And although this next offering isn’t as wild as the former Knick and HOF’er style, it’s palette of pure white leather, Collegiate Burgundy and Gold Metallic — along with its premium execution — its something that screams 70s steez. This pair, in particular, adds a little extra sauce by-way-of holographic Three Stripes branding, you know, the kind you’d see on those “live-action” NBA trading cards from the early 90s. Construction is the highlight, though, with beautifully tumbled leather uppers, lux leather liners, and a classic color combo all coming together to make this one hell of a general release.
