The revered adidas Superstar has sure seen its fair share of distinct designs over the course of its 50th-anniversary year. From notable collaborations from Prada, Jonah Hill, and Human Made, to a mainline duo of Jell Toe drops and Pharrell’s completely overhauled duo of crochet Superstars, the silhouette has been through the wringer — in a good sense. The next option to surface isn’t as wild as Skateboard P’s, nor is it as notable as Prada’s $450 entry, but it is unique, with the ability to customize by-way-of Velcro patches at the rear panel. Patch options include an adidas-covered heart, the signature trefoil, or the finger heart popularized in South Korea. The rest of the sneaker retains its classic heritage, with white leather construction, gold foil branding, and leather overlays, sighted here in Scarlet Red.
Pairs of these patchy adidas Superstars are set to arrive in Asia on August 6th, but at this stage a wider, global release is not on the cards. Should that change, we’ll be sure to keep you informed right here on our official Twitter account.
