New Ultra BOOST “City Pack” Celebrates Eight of Asia’s Biggest Sneaker-Loving Cities

The BOOST series is accustomed to showing some international love to some of its leading silhouettes. For Summer 2020, the persisting thematic returns for an eight-piece Asian Ultra BOOST “City Pack” that honors some of South-East Asia’s biggest sneaker hubs.

The pack shifts from white- to grey-based pairs, with the expectation of one punchy blue number for the capital of Thailand. Indonesia’s Jakarta pairs a white and grey woven upper with stark blacks through the caging, clips, and sole unit, while Hong Kong flips it around to show a neon-popped upper that’s reminiscent of Victoria Harbor after dark. Taipei features an all-white pair with striking black outsoles and tricolor pops on it’s flecked Three Striped cage. Osaka and Tokyo are relatively tame in greys and blacks — perhaps in reference to the neon-less concrete jungles seen in the light of day — whilst Seoul, Bangkok, and Saigon rock black, blue and grey with orange and white splatter effects. All eight pairs come with city-specific baggage tags (and matching insoles), the aforementioned flecked detail on the lace caging, and added heel pulls with special insignia that’s unique to each individual city.

While a release for the octet is yet to be determined, it is likely that these eight (and possibly more) pairs will be exclusive to Asia — but don’t lose faith, because releases like these have hit our shores before.
