Ethiopia's Tigst Assefa Unveils Adidas Y-3's Spring/Summer 2025 Adizero Running Collection
Adidas' Adizero line took first place amongst male runners in the recent Tokyo Marathon. Today, famed Japanese designer Yohji Yamamoto has unveiled his latest Y-3 collaboration with the Three Stripes' performance-running series.
Prepped in time for the full swing of spring and summer training and racing, the Adizero Running collection by Y-3 stars a number of apparel and footwear items. In the latter group, Yamamoto shares fashion-forward takes on the Adios Pro 4 marathon racer and Adios 9 training model. Tigst Assefa, the former world record holder for the women's marathon, has been featured in campaign material for the range of products, which boast color palettes signature to Yamamoto and Adidas' seasonal efforts.

Captured by Francis Plummer, the latest Y-3 Adizero Running collection exemplifies the Japanese designer's mastery in bridging the gap between fashion and sport. Assefa is shown wearing different items from the lineup, which boast top-notch ventilation, the Three Stripes' marquee LIGHTSTRIKE PRO cushioning, and elements that leave Yamamoto's mark on yet another quality-driven collection for his German sportswear partner.
Both the Adios Pro 4 and Adios 9 feature LIGHTLOCK uppers. The latter, however, abandons the ENERGYRODS found in the $500 Adios Evo Pro 2 in favor of a small stiffening element. Mismatched color executions on every running shoes' profile 3-Stripes contrast the mostly-tonal makeovers by Y-3. Made for Sport tags and Yohji Yamamoto's signature rounds out the special edition Adizeroes on the left shoes' heel.
The entire Spring/Summer 2025 Adizero Running collection by Y-3 is now available via Adidas.com. Pricing ranges from $120 for a running t-shirt to $350 for the Adios Pro 4 marathon racer.
