adidasand Bathing Ape have been in business for a long, long time, and over the course of the years, they’ve visited the staple Superstaron several occasions, including last February when the two juggernauts connected on a duo of Japan-exclusives, followed by an ABC Camo colorway last May. Now the two streetwear powerhouses reunite, with BAPE bringing a familiar feel to the all-new effort.
Construction-wise, it’s very much a staple Black/White Superstar, with premium smooth leather across the uppers and that iconic rubber toe cap. There are, however, some not-so-subtle additions in there — as to be expected given the Ura-Hara label’s involvement — with asymmetric Stas and Three Strips on sidewalls and, of course, an ape head graphic at one tongue. There are aged tints applied to the Shell Toes and soles, with bold BAPE dubraes rounding out the design.
