30 years after its first appearance, the adidas ZX8000 “Aqua” made a triumphant return to retailers midway through last month. Of course, the units moved faster than Russell Westbrook in the open court. But if you did miss out — or you want to keep the OGs on ice for a few more years — adidas are dropping another rendition of the OG, this time coming with a few minor (and one major) tweaks. Firstly, the overall palate is much more vibrant, ditching the dark aqua overlays for something a little more energetic. Sand accents have been replaced with a dynamic “Shock Yellow” and the midsoles and lacestays have been swapped from green to light aqua. And, of course, the big-ticket tweak — according to retailers 43einhalb — BOOST has been installed in the sole unit for all-day comfort.
