CLOT's Next Adidas Stan Smith Features Beads on the Heel

Edison Chen and his CLOT imprint have been bridging the gap between East and West for decades. Their partnership with Adidas Originals has delivered elegant takes on heritage sportswear, showcasing a mastery over product execution. For their latest proposal, the duo have reimagined the beloved Stan Smith with beaded details at the heel.

Over the last two years, Chen has reworked the old school tennis silhouette and other similar low-profile styles in ways unlike any other collaborator. In comparison to other offerings, the newly-surfaced Adidas Stan Smith indulges in a tame makeover. A "Cloud White/Night Navy" color scheme takes over the pair, which features a mostly-standard build. Sole units abandon the espadrille-tooling found on other ensembles, but the traditional Achilles' heel panel opts for a logo-less, beaded makeover. Hits of black, blue, and white dangle off a flush component, added a fashion-forward element to the outdated sports shoe.

Elsewhere, co-branding appears on the footbed, with portraits on the tops of the tongue taking on a premium debossed finish. Lastly, Asian characters land on the toe box, connecting two worlds via a sneaker collaboration.
