Eric “Shake” James x adidas adistar Control 5 “Cranberry 5s” Drops November 15
adidas and Eric “Shake” James — the founder of Milwaukee’s Clicks and Black Market — are coming together on a collaboration that’s as personal as it is powerful. The “Cranberry 5’s” Adistar Control 5 tells a story of resilience, rebirth, and remembrance — a testament to Shake’s journey of surviving cancer and regaining control of his life, body, and community.
Drawing from Wisconsin’s state fruit, the bold cranberry-red palette pays homage to Milwaukee — the city that rallied around Shake through his battle and recovery. The sneaker’s deep tones reflect strength and pride, while its design symbolizes the forward motion of healing, both personal and collective.
Coinciding with the launch, Shake is reopening the original Black Market storefront as the new home of JAY Academy, his nonprofit dedicated to mentorship and youth empowerment. The academy will provide tutoring, career development, creative coaching, and unique programs like “Fades for Grades,” sneaker design workshops, and DJ classes — continuing Shake’s mission to pour back into the community that uplifted him.
To celebrate the release, adidas Cornerstone Community and Shake will host a series of Milwaukee events, including a Sneaker Fair at Dr. Howard Collegiate Academy, hands-on creative workshops, and the Grand Unveiling of the JAY Academy space. The day will close with “Take Control of the Mic,” a comedy showcase and afterparty highlighting local talent and unity through laughter and music.
Since 2020, adidas Cornerstone Community and JAY Academy have led more than 20 community-focused events across the city — each centered on empowerment, mentorship, and creativity. The “Cranberry 5’s” is not just another release; it’s a reminder that every step forward is a celebration of control regained and community restored.
The Eric “Shake” James x adidas adistar Control 5 “Cranberry 5’s” will release on November 15 through CLICKS.com and instore at CLICKS KICKS in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The pair will retail for $140.
