adidas is leaving no stone unturned for the 2026 World Cup™. Having recently launched the star-studded Backyard Legends spot featuring Timothée Chalamet, Bad Bunny, Lionel Messi, the German sportswear juggernaut continues to celebrate "the beautiful game" through more product launches, campaigns, activations, and key athlete endorsements.
On the football boot front, the Three Stripes has just unveiled an F50 Tunit Trionda set inspired by the three nations hosting the summer tournament from June 11-July 19: Mexico, the United States of America (U.S.A.), and Canada.
You might be asking yourself, 'Why is adidas launching a 20-year-old design for the 2026 World Cup?', especially if the all-new F50 HYPERFAST exists. The answer exists in 2006.
For the 2006 World Cup™, the Three Stripes put together 32 F50.6 Tunit football boots in colors to represent each federation participating in the tournament. Both the Mexico and U.S. national football teams represented CONCACAF in Germany that year. The newly-surfaced F50 retro trio harkens back to the occasion while celebrating the Summer 2026 competition.

Despite not being official collaborations with corresponding football federations, the F50.6 Tunit lineup from '06 featured direct nods to the countries they were inspired by. A pair for Brazil, for example, featured the Confederación Brasileña de Fútbol's (CBF) signature colors and the word "Brasil," even though the team had been exclusively sponsored by Nike since 1997.
The 2026 "Host Nations" Pack (tentative name) forgoes any overt nod to Mexico, the U.S., and Canada, but the connection is obvious. All three nations are represented by a specific symbol—eagle, star, maple leaf—which also made its way onto the adidas Trionda Official Match Ball for the 2026 World Cup™. Furthermore, the modern F50 Tunit capsule indulges in colors derived from each country's flag: green, white, red for Mexico; red, white, and blue for U.S.A.; and red and white for Canada.
