East-Coast Skate Label Metropolitan Drifts in with Street Racing-Inspired adidas ZX 8000
Taking the focus away from the 50th-anniversary celebrations of the adidas Superstars — for just a moment — is this new collaboration with East Coast skate label Metropolitan. Inspired by the 90’s street-racing scene, the new Metropolitan x adidas ZX8000 is bound to stir-up your inner Dominic Toretto.
Living its life a quarter-mile at a time, the pair’s predominantly black upper comprised of nylon, leather, and suede as it acts as a bedrock for the yellow-neon accents positioned on the three stripes and trefoil branding, lace eyelets and dubraes. The high-octane theme is emphasized thanks to the high-viz panels on the toe box, heel, and a carbon fiber-styled heel clip. But where the rubber meets the road is where all the action is; the all-black midsole — inclusive of a purple insert — leads into the semi-translucent outsole which reveals a high-tech Torsion bar and full-length yellow “Metropolitan” logo completing the street-racer worthy design.
Fire-up your turbos cause this is dropping March 21st at adidas.com — but you won’t need pink slips, as these can be yours for just 180 bones.
In related news, adidas has upgraded the Ultra BOOST 2020 for Summer use.
