The Pokémon universe began on Feb. 27, 1996. Over the years, Satoshi Tajiri's original vision has gone on to become one of the world's most popular, successful, and beloved franchises, inspiring animated series, trading card games, events, and much more. Pocket Monsters celebrates its 30th anniversary in 2026. In addition to everything Nintendo surely has planned, Adidas Originals will help the institution with its festivities.
According to Kicks Finder, a multi-piece collection spanning footwear, apparel, and accessories for Adults and Youth will release during the second-half of '26. Iconic silhouettes like the Adidas Samba and Adidas Superstar lead the charge, picking up right where a previous linkup between Pokémon and the Three Stripes left off. It's still unclear exactly how footwear dedicated to the anime will look, but it's likely no offering will take on the 8-bit styling found on an Adidas Advantage from 2019.
PUMA and Crocs have also been collaborators for the Nintendo property, bringing Pikachu and other starter Pokémon to footwear form. Expect special packaging and in-store activations for the occasion.
Stay tuned for firm Adidas.com release details and official images of collaborative items.
