Pharrell’s adidas NMD Hu Returns in its Original Build
After some trail-inspired experimentation and subsequent absence from the market, it appears that Pharrell and adidas are ready to reintroduce the original model of the NMD Hu, complete with its flat rubber sole unit.
The long-awaited return to form will be kick-started by something of simplicity, with an ultra-versatile black and white colorway set to take the reigns for the silhouette as we move into 2021. Here, the primarily black-based pair boasts murdered-out everything — including BOOST — save the silver forefoot glaze, whose Asian characters likely continue Pharrell’s signature penchant for existentialism. The trail inspirations, though removed from underfoot, still make their way into the release, with outdoor-inspired laces in a stark white wrapping the vamp. Finalizing the design is (what appears to be) a reflective heel overlay, and jet black caging, black BOOST midsoles, and matching rubber outsoles.
