Since March 2014, Pharrell Williams has lent his creative vision to the expansive Three Stripes archive to wide-spread success. Although the Virginia-native has reworked a number of lifestyle models through the adidas Originals branch, he's also lent his creativity to a number of performance-first designs.
Now, Williams' input has helped produce the Adizero EVOLUTION Pro, a design-study on what the future of running shoes could be.
Priced at $1,000, the all new Humanrace project is more concept than finalized performance product. The shoe is built upon the blueprint laid by the Adizero Adios Pro Evo 1, one of the lightest marathon racing sneakers of the last 15 years. The Adizero Evo SL—a model Williams previously worked on—democratized the elite athlete-informed design, winning over dedicated runners and casual consumers alike. The EVOLUTION Pro lives within the same family, but provides a stunning, pinnacle expression of innovation that looks to the next decade.

The Adizero EVOLUTION Pro sees touch-reactive design elements across the upper, creating a new sensory experience. The raised detail across 3-Stripes branding invites wearers to feel the future—specifically a unique 5D dot pattern developed by the German sportswear company. The eye-catching element sits atop a lightweight Monomesh material that couples with a full slab of LIGHTSTRIKE PRO for ultimate comfort.
The shoe's last is wider, bringing more of an everyday-ride to the Humanrace collab. Furthermore, Williams' distinct design language arrives via the printed (liquid?) rubber traction zones underfoot.
Enjoy detailed shots of the debut Adizero EVOLUTION Pro ahead. The model is scheduled to launch in ultra-limited quantities come Saturday, Jan. 24. The pair is priced at $1,000 and will be available via adidas.com.
