Shake James "Wild Rivals" adidas AdiStar XLG 2.0 Pack
Milwaukee’s Eric "Shake" James is not letting his foot up off the gas, planning yet another adidas Originals collaboration after delivering two projects with the Three Stripes earlier in the year. For his latest creative endeavor, the CLICKS-founder has landed on the AdiStar XLG 2.0 for the "Wild Rivals" Pack.
Previewed during ComplexCon Los Angeles, the two-pair effort reimagines the chunky cousin of the AdiStar Jellyfish with inspiration from two animals that are in constant tension within nature: the mandrill and African rock python. Both the monkey and snake come alive through carefully-considered ensembles placed upon the XLG 2.0—makeovers that recreate the mandrill's distinct red, blue, and yellow face, and python's yellowish scale-covered body.
Shake's use of the AdiStar XLG 2.0 is intentional and part of the "Wild Rivals" concept given that the silhouette is "extra large," just as the mandrill and African rock python are large animals.
Each pair in the collaboration arrives with a collectible field card that features curated facts about both animals.

As with much of Shake's collaborative work with the Three Stripes, the "Wild Rivals" Pack also touches on the community leader's personal story. The entrepreneur is a cancer survivor, something he's extremely grateful for and proud of. Knowing first-hand the level of fight needed to battle such a devastating disease, Shake's exploration of nature and use of a slice of the animal kingdom speaks to themes of survival and resilience, too.
