
SNIPES & adidas Originals Celebrate Detroit's 313 Day With Motor City Spirit
SNIPES USA and adidas Originals are back with another eye-catching, story-driven, and meaningful footwear collaboration. Having recently celebrated Detroit's "313 Day" with a special-edition Top Ten, the duo's latest project leverages a pink-covered Adistar Control 5 to challenge outdated ideas of masculinity. The collaboration lives under the "Be Loved" banner and features digital creator and Twitch streamer Raud.
The retro running sneaker is reimagined with a "Lucid Red/Dark Brown/Purple Rush" color scheme that abandons the silver overlays from its original debut in the late 2000s. The vibrant hues aren't random; they're a meaningful decision that shifts away from the traditional colors used when designing menswear. Furthermore, the rich shades of red, pink, and purple draw inspiration from springtime, signaling renewal and reinforcing the collab's message of confidence and unapologetic self-expression.
Raud, the 22-year-old multi-hyphenate from Philadelphia, stars in the SNIPES USA and adidas Originals' "Loved Delivered" campaign for the SNIPES exclusive Adistar Control 5 "Be Loved". Inspired by Raud's personal journey with self-care, the campaign sees him dress up in a SNIPES delivery uniform and the special-edition Adistar, hop into a kei truck, and hand-deliver words of encouragement, humor, and check-ins through his neighborhood. Raud reminds viewers of all ages and backgrounds, especially boys and men that taking care of yourself is a strength, not a weakness.

"Partnering with SNIPES and adidas gave me a chance to talk about something men don’t always say out loud," shared Raud. "We’re taught to grind and keep it moving, but real strength is checking on yourself and your people. This campaign lets that message live in a way that feels authentic to my community."
Having previously worked with the Three Stripes on narrative-based releases, SNIPES USA had Raud's sentiment at the foundation of its Adistar Control 5 project: "With ‘Be Loved’, we wanted to challenge outdated narratives around masculinity.
