Having recently (and exclusively) revealed the Stan Marsh Stan Smiths, you’d have all assumed that accompanying releases for Kyle, Kenny, and Cartman would also be coming soon — and you guess right, with all three characters appearing today by way of official adidas imagery. Here we get another first look at the South Park x adidas NMD R1 “Kenny” — and, not surprisingly, they’ve killed him off.
The collection serves as a follow-up to 4/20’s “Towelie” Campus 80s – a release that took TikTok and social by storm thanks to its sunlight-altering eyes. This Kenny McCormick NMD doesn’t seem to feature a gimmick of the same degree, but adidas does ham up the character’s overkill nature. As it appears, this pair harkens back to season 1, episode 7, the first instance where Kenny perishes on more than one occasion in an episode. That’s noted by the midfoot stitching that pieces the character back together, as seen first back in 1997, as well as a slew of exposed injuries, and forefoot inserts reading “OMGTKK” (Oh My God, They Killed Kenny). All of this rests atop a color scheme that matches Kenny’s signature orange hoodie — including liners of blush brown fur — with the pair then finished off with co-branded insoles and special-edition packaging.
