ANTA and Kyrie Irving have released the KAI 3 “Triple Black: Shadow Work,” the latest colorway from Irving’s signature basketball line.
The new release centers on the idea of “shadow work,” referencing the personal discipline of reflection, resilience, and growth through adversity. That theme is carried through a mostly black build, giving the KAI 3 a quiet, focused look that reflects the work done away from the spotlight.

While the colorway is understated at first glance, the pair includes a number of storytelling details. Embroidery on the heel is accented with Kyrie’s signature purple, alongside grey and black elements that represent the different layers of self-discovery. Carbon fiber print overlays add to the theme, symbolizing strength, endurance, and the determination needed to move through challenges.
Performance details remain central to the design. Lightweight mesh panels are used for breathability and comfort, while the tongue and collar feature matte white buck-inspired materials. Welded logos complete the upper, adding contrast without taking away from the shoe’s mostly black finish.
The KAI 3 has continued to build on Irving’s approach to signature footwear, combining on-court performance with deeper storytelling tied to his personal philosophy. With “Triple Black: Shadow Work,” ANTA and Irving lean into a more reflective theme, framing growth as something built through consistency, sacrifice, and unseen preparation.
The ANTA KAI 3 “Triple Black: Shadow Work” is available now at select retailers.
