ANTA and Sneaker Room are coming together once again for a deeply meaningful collaboration, unveiling the ANTA Kai 2 “Mother’s Day” edition, a heartfelt tribute that honors the enduring bond between mother and child. Designed in collaboration with NBA star Kyrie Irving and Sneaker Room CEO Suraj Kaufman, the limited-edition release captures the emotions of love, loss, and healing through a powerful and personal lens.
Set to release exclusively at Sneaker Room on May 3, the sneaker arrives drenched in rich red tones, accented with elegant touches of gold. The design’s emotional depth is carried through twin heart motifs: intact hearts on the lateral side represent the strength and love shown to the world, while broken hearts on the medial side reveal the private journey of grief and remembrance carried within.
Each shoe offers a personal tribute to the mothers who inspired the project.
The left shoe honors Kyrie’s mother, Elizabeth, with poppy flowers and green and yellow accents nodding to Australia, where Kyrie was born. The heel features symbols for Elizabeth’s passions: a music note, heart, and volleyball.
The right shoe is dedicated to Suraj’s mother, Ellen, adorned with carnations and tones of blue and yellow inspired by Jersey City, New Jersey, Suraj’s hometown, with heart motifs symbolizing her infinite love.
Roman numerals inscribed along the midsoles, MCMXCVI and MMVI, mark the years of Elizabeth’s and Ellen’s passing (1996 and 2006), grounding the design in a deeply personal tribute.
This release also marks the sixth collaboration between Kyrie and Sneaker Room, with 100% of proceeds benefiting the Sneaker Room Foundation, continuing a legacy of giving back to the community.
The ANTA Kai 2 "Mother’s Day" launches exclusively at Sneaker Room on May 3.
