ASICS Honors Augusta National with the GEL-Lyte III

The most prestigious event in the sport of golf is just around the corner. With the fans will be flooding Augusta National in early April, footwear brands will look to capitalize on Masters fever through specially crafted — and unofficially linked — colorways for the occasion.

Undoubtedly, Nike Golf will have something up its sleeve, but it’s this entry from ASICS that has garnered the most attention.

The Shigeyuki Mitsui design incorporates a color scheme that is reminiscent of the Masters’ green jacket and color accents that channel the legendary tournament logo.

The shoe features a green clad-suede upper that is completely dipped in a grassy-green shade, while a bright yellow color peeks through the windowed forefoot and eye stays. ASICS branding in the rear is rendered in red, with the shoe’s sole unit treated to a tread reminiscent of a sand trap.
