Cecilie Bahnsen's ASICS GEL-Kayano 20 Sees Global Release May 16

Danish womenswear label, Cecilie Bahnsen, continues to lend its effortless chic to the ASICS lineup of footwear. Before summer arrives, the duo will launch its GEL-Kayano 20 collaboration globally.

Now boasting a cult-like following that watches its every move, the partnership has explored a number of silhouettes since forming throughout 2023. The eponymous fashion brand has brought floral-heavy makeovers, Mary Jane aesthetics, and other feminine touches to a number of retro ASICS runners. For their next project, the collaborators have reimagined the GEL-Kayano 20 from 2013 with much of the same elements.

Akin to previous GT-2160 releases, the Kayano series offering opts for a mix of materials across its 12-year-old upper. Floral motifs, co-branding, and unorthodox lacing claim real estate across both collabs, which indulge in "Olive Canvas" and "Vanilla/Pure Silver" color schemes. Underfoot, the retro training model's tooling is kept intact, ensuring the Japanese sportswear brand's heritage is championed via the fashion-forward linkup.
