Temptation Vacation Takes the ASICS GEL-DS TRAINER™ 14 to Australia's Coastline
Japanese sportswear juggernaut, ASICS, continues to look to the Land Down Under for collaborations. Australia's Temptation Vacation is the latest independent label from Oceania to lend its creative vision to the brand's roster of retro runners.
Teased throughout the last month, Temptation Vacation's debut project with the heritage institution reworks the GEL-DS TRAINER™ 14, a stability-focused running model from 2009. The silhouette has also been the canvas for beloved ASICS collaborator, Kiko Kostadinov. By comparison, the Aussie imprint's take is a lot more tame, opting for straightforward "Cream/Olive Canvas" color-blocking across its mixed-materials upper. The GEL-assisted tooling underfoot favors the dark green hue, although it also dons hits of blue throughout the outsole.
Marketing material for the special ASICS GEL-DS TRAINER™ 14 (shot and produced by Tamas Keefer and Seb McNamara) positions the collaboration amongst the "scenic route," namely the Australian coastline. As with other work by Temptation Vacation, the inaugural sneaker linkup reminds folks to take a pause every-so-often to enjoy the small, oft-overlooked moments of the day.
Pairs of the project will first launch via the Australian team's webstore on Sunday, May 25, before hitting ASICS.com and a global network of retailers on Friday, May 30.
