Australia's UP THERE Reworks ASICS GEL-KAYANO® 12.1 In Time for 15th Anniversary
The team at Australia's UP THERE is celebrating its 15th anniversary on Tuesday, Sept. 30. The store's founders will be behind the counter once more for the occasion and invite members of the community to visit the shop to kick it (69 Flinders Lane, Melbourne, Victoria) and reminisce on everything that's gone down since 2010. It seems like the boutique will also commemorate its 15 years in business with an ASICS GEL-KAYANO® 12.1 collaboration.
No stranger to the Japanese institution's offerings, both as retailer and partner, UP THERE tones things down for its latest project. A grey mesh base sets the stage for olive green-colored patent leather panels throughout the upper. Upside-down UP THERE branding lands on a custom tag on the lateral heel while footbeds opt for a much bolder green finish and co-branding. Elsewhere, hits of red animate a detail on the tongue and part of the stability-focused sole unit underfoot.
A backstory to the ASICS collaboration has yet to surface, but the sneaker's overall green look nods to UP THERE's brand identity. The pair could also draw inspiration from some element of Australian life, as has been the case with other collabs.
Enjoy official photos of the GEL-KAYANO® 12.1 by UP THERE ahead. More details on the style should surface soon.
