With football back in full force, a lot of attention is being paid to "the beautiful game" right now. Off-the-pitch, brands big and small continue to tap into the sport's popularity and cultural significance to deliver lifestyle products. Case in point?: Mexico's Charly with its latest Heritage Collection.
No stranger to football, the 48-year-old label has been outfitting athletes in performance gear for decades. Currently, Charly is the official kit manufacturer of five clubs from Mexico's top flight, Liga MX, in addition to teams from other leagues. Its Heritage Collection, however, focuses on lifestyle, delivering compelling product to be appreciated by all.
Similar to the shirts on which Mexico's 2026 World Cup jerseys are based, Charly's latest fashionable offerings boast Aztec symbology atop a polo collar-donning top. Quetzalcoatl, the feathered serpent, appears on the jersey's left chest, the place where the National Football Team's crest usually is. Charly's stylized C emblem claims the right side. Contrasting lines run down the front of the shirt while collars and arm sleeves opt for similar detailing. The back of the jersey features México and Charly text, with the former borrowing the same font used during the 1968 Summer Olympics.

Charly has presented its Aztec-inspired design in four different color combinations: green, white, and red; black and gold; white and burgundy; burgundy and gold. The quartet draws from Mexico's flag and footballing heritage.
Recent shirts by Adidas for the Mexican National Football Team have taken on the same color palettes. Charly's offerings, however, opt for an old school aesthetic and fit, differing from the modern performancewear from the Three Stripes.
A set of four matching caps rounds out the collection, which Mauricio Rodríguez Vallejo, Charly's Sports Marketing Director, "hopes...will resonate with Mexicans, Mexican Americans, and those deeply entrenched in football culture."
