Kicking off our series of Villains Concepts.
Serving as a follow-up to our extremely well-received “Superhero” series of Air Jordan Concepts, we thought we’d move to the dark side, so to speak. And what better way to kick off our antihero series than with the Sith Lord himself, Darth Maul.
Now, I’m not the biggest Star Wars fan, but when The Phantom Menace hit cinemas in 1999, everyone wanted to be as bad-ass as the double-bladed lightsaber-wielding beast. And while the evil antihero is red-skinned with black ink, his attire was predominately black, with just his red head peering out above. This influences our color blocking as to only show minimal pops of red from the front on, with the remaining blocking arriving in an evil’d-out all-black.
